RICE CHILd & family center

The 2018 event benefited the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Child & Family Center. The Rice Center provides a temporary home and therapeutic setting for many of Illinois’ young children in foster care with severe mental health and behavior challenges. The residential care and treatment center helps kids ages 6 to 14 move forward and work towards a goal of transitioning to a stable, loving home.

2017 BENEFICIARY

culinary care

At Culinary Care, they’re on a mission to ensure no one fighting cancer ever has to struggle to get the nourishment they need to survive. To them, it’s all about taking one thing off their plate by simply putting something on it.  As the only organization dedicated to ensuring no one fighting cancer worries about their next meal, they’re part of a much larger fight — the fight against malnutrition.

2016 BENEFICIARY

KAboom!

KaBOOM!'s mission is creating active, safe play spaces for America's youth. In essence, this means they construct playgrounds around the United States in under-served neighborhoods so the local youth have play spaces. In 2016, the WCB team partnered with KaBOOM and a local family to build a playground in the Hermosa neighborhood of Chicago. It was the first active space for children of the neighborhood.

2015 BENEFICIARY

intsikelelo

Intsikelelo is seeking to improve the lives of vulnerable and orphaned children in South Africa. The proceeds from the 2015 Ball helped in the construction of the Langbos Children's home which provides support and housing for vulnerable children in one of the poorest parts of South Africa.
